Paranjothi Baba - "Ayya"

       Sri La Sri Sarvasathkaarya Sadhguru Vadapalani Paranjothi Baba is called dearly as Ayya by his devotees. Paranjothi Baba is a nonpareil Sidhdhar with extraordinary powers which he obtained by his steadfast penance for more than 30 years. Everyone would be thinking that he meditated in a dense forest or hilly regions. But No ! For him, great meditations and penance are like a left hand game. He did penance in the streets of Vadapalani. He is known for his one-leg penance ( Ekapaadha Thapas). He didn't care about rain, summer, shivering cold... nothing. He was a great Thavasi. Many of His devotees are attracted mainly to His pure white dhoti and towel. Also, to his beard !
He used to give his devotees some tea and bread as prasadam ....indirectly to solve their problems.

Vadapalani Paranjothi Baba is such a great Sidhdhar that he can control the five elements ( Pancha Boodham) and he has saved the lives of many bhaktas from death in return for their love and confidence over him. Many devotees after realizing his greatness, rented him a small room near Vadapalani Murugan Temple where he stayed till his Jeeva Samadhi(July 17, 2011). Though Paranjothi Baba is not with his holy body now, he continues to be there in that room and blesses all the devotees spiritually. That room is now maintained as his memorial till date by his devotees.
